31st annual Susan B Anthony Race Women’s 5k and Elizabeth Cady Stanton Kids ½

Hi Chippers,

Our 31st annual Susan B Anthony Race Women’s 5k and Elizabeth Cady Stanton Kids ½ http://buffalochips.com/Races/SusanB/index.htm miler is one week away (August 12th)! So far, our registration numbers are almost double what they were a year ago and the race committee is calmly getting the final details in place to make sure the race goes off without any issues. So far, the goodie bag (a goodie in itself) includes Ghiradelli chocolate, Jelly Belly Sport Beans, Snickers Marathon Bars, Masuya Rice Crackers, and whatever else lands on the porch this week. In addition, there will be a grand prize raffle of box seats for 6 at ARCO Arena for ANY event!! Both runners AND volunteers are eligible to enter and must be present to win.

Online signup at www.active.com closes on Wednesday, August 9th. All chippettes are encouraged to enter. Haven’t entered yet and don’t want to pay the ‘convenience fee’ of online entry OR have to use a stamp? You’re in luck. There are two opportunities next week to get the $20 early registration bargain and have a good time in the process.

1. Ladies Last Call- August 8th at 6:30 PM – River City Brewing on the K-street mall.

Ladies Last Call gives you the chance to sign up for the Susan B Anthony or the Buffalo Stampede while enjoying complimentary tastings. The menu will include four-star cuisine from River City Catering, award winning microbrews from River City Brewing Company, and first-class wines from Renwood Wineries. A fabulous Silent Auction will be held with great items generously donated from WestField's Downtown Plaza Establishments.

Best parking – Go into the Downtown Plaza garage at the J street entrance between 4th and 5th street. Take the elevator up to the mall. Don’t forget to bring your parking ticket and have it validated!

2. Packet pickup and talk by Nicole Deboom-, August 11th at 7:00PM

Sign up for Susan B at Fleet Feet Sports, 2311 J starting at 11:00 AM. At 7:00 PM, come hear a talk by professional tri-athlete and SkirtSports founder, Nicole Deboom (http://www.skirtsports.com). Deboom will discuss the challenges of including a consistent fitness schedule into our hectic lives, focusing on the transition she has made from a career as a pro-triathlete to a full-time businesswoman. Light appetizers will be provided.

If you plan to attend, an RSVP to susanb06@buffalochips.com would be appreciated (but not required!). Just put the event (Ladies Last Call or Deboom talk) and the number of people you are RSVP’ing for in the subject line.
