Buffalo Chips Weekly News Update

Locally, Zoo Zoom Great Success in Good Weather

Quick highlights from this year’s Zoo Zoom 5/10k notes that Holly Harman, Florence Fong, Mark Barrett, John Nichols, Roger Fong and Paul Camerer all mastered the 5k distance on Sunday, and…

John Nichols repeated the challenge to also score in the 10k on the same morning along with other Chip finishers including Heather Bracken, Rosemary Fajan and a Chip-in-spirit Jim Mirabell.

Congratulations to all who helped support this wonderful community program.

Coming in middle May: Race For the Cure 5K

Let’s see a big club presence at this MOST important national event at it’s Sacramento site. The benefits from these entry fees support breast cancer programs largely in the Sacramento area. Many of us have direct family experiences with this all too common affliction.

Race Results World Wide

Rotterdam Marathon…something like 10 men were under 2:11 with the winning time a 2:06, currently the fastest time in the world this year. On the women’s side the times were not as impressive.

Paris Marathon…another fast course with a 2:08 to win and 11 men under 2:11.

Coming THIS NEXT MONDAY, April 17, BOSTON MARATHON….

A very strong field will fly out of Hopkinton next Monday, with Meb Kefleghzi one of the real favorites to WIN. Keep your VCRs and TIVO units programmed as the race should be televised apparently live (9 a.m. West coast time).
