I continue to be proud of this club for our speedy runners and commitment to our community. Through donations collected at Tuesday night workouts and the Buffalo Stampede, we were able to raise several hundred dollars for this family. It was reported that more than one cash prize winner at the Buffalo Stampede walked right over to the "donation can" and dropped in their winnings. What great people! Thanks to all of you for your generosity.

Re: Rickey Dickerson Trust fund
October 22, 2006
Please accept this check for $1,000 from the Buffalo Chips Running Club for deposit in the Rickey Dickerson trust fund at the American River Bank. The check is a small token of the club’s appreciation of the sacrifice that Rickey Dickerson and his family have made in defense of peaceful and safe use of the American River Parkway. It represents general club funds as well as individual member contributions to our “Parkway Hero Fund”.
Virtually every member of our running club uses the parkway for running, and most members use it for other activities such as biking and hiking. Security has always been an issue for all members but especially for women. We are therefore very grateful to anyone who acts to protect and defend the peaceful users of the parkway. This is particularly the case if protection of the innocent results in harm to the rescuer.
Please extend our sympathies to Rickey Dickerson’s family and let them know how much we appreciate his sacrifice and theirs, and wish them all the best of luck in an unfortunate situation.
Sincerely,
The Board and the Members
