One of the best cushioned of the Nike road shoes is now on special markdown at the Folsom (and likely Vacaville) Nike Outlet stores. Marked down to $39.99 this is a really nice fitting and cushion "ride" for this $$$ There were some decent prices on the Air Zoom Elite for women and even at least one OK entry level men's model marked down to $29.99.
