National News…Gate River Run 15k, Jacksonville, Fla, U.S. National Championship

Deena Kastor cruised solo away from the elite women’s field and stayed in front of the later starting men’s division to claim the U.S. national women’s 15km title, and both the women’s big purse and the BONUS $5,000 for the first runner to cross the finish line.

Chasing after her, unsuccessfully but leaving the men’s field in his wake was Meb Keflezighi with fast rising star Ryan Hall second about 15 seconds behind. Meb and Ryan Hall are prepping for London while Deena is tuning up for Boston.
